Wedding Look #5

Any Indian Wedding is incomplete without Mehandi ceremony. Be it a bride’s Mehandi night or a Groom’s Mehandi night, both are a glamorous affair. Its all about being blingy, glam, luxe, fashionable and dancing your heart out. Floral, ethnic, pink are a rage this evening. I have incorporated an Anarkali Suit look yet being a little modernised way and still ethnic at heart.

I am sure you girls are pretty confused as to what am I talking about. How can we have it ethnic – modern – anarkali – pink – glam – luxe – fashion and rock the mehandi eve? So here is the answer to all of the above questions in mind.

This anarkali suit in a pink and offwhite hue is a killer combination. The beautiful work on the front from the neck to the waist line is the USP of this suit. The intricate thread work and zari along with little sequins is surely a stunner. The knot work in the embroidery is the beauty of this outfit. Also the color is just suited right for a Mehandi evening.

This suit is a purchase from my Cousin’s Boutique at Noida. The embroidery is not only what stands out but also the pleating work right above the chest. The bold pleats in offwhite are making the outfit look all the more gorgeous.

Accessorizing any outfit is really important. And when going out for a Mehandi evening it is all the more important. I styled this modern anarkali with a beads bangle purchased from a local market. But the outfit turner was the beautiful Clutch from The Style Closet ( ) . This beautiful clutch has sequins hand embroidery and makes your heart ponder over it. It not only brings life to your outfit but also adds an ethnic touch to it.

The clutch is big and a square shape and thus it is suited to carry to any function. Generally we find clutched in small sizes and they are able to fit in only one lipstick and your mobile phone and in much cases it is only mobile phone. But this clutch has a lot of space and can accommodate a  comb, lipstick, mobile phone, blusher, tissues, Sagan Envelopes, keys and a lot more stuff. But the plus poiny of this clutch is that even though it is big and spacious it still does not look bulky. It is right sized to be carried in your hand and you may or may not sling it with its gold chain.

I would also like to mention that the Gold chain is also of a very good quality and it does not stick into your hair and make you uneasy. It is fuss free and really sleek.

The back of this outfit is plain and dual shade like the front. But yes it looks perfectly fine when wearing to a Mehandi ceremony. As it has not got to be too heavy nor too light. The color is so pretty that it does not require much work as well.

This was all about this outfit and the look for a mehandi evening for you pretty girls but how can we forget our Mom’s on this pretty occassion. Generally in Baniya’s it is more about wearing Sarees for them. But when you have got to apply mehandi Sarees become a litttle uncomfortable. So here I have yet another pretty suit in Pink shade which we again transformed into Ethnic Modern Look.

This suit in Pink is good enough for a lady. Baniya Moms do not wear much bling and the suits are simple yet elegant. So this is amongst the one of my mom’s collection purchased from Neelam’s Creation in a Wedding Exhibition. But what I like about it is the zari work which is intrictae enought and is all over the suit. Also the color of the zari is an antique gold so it gives the suit much sheen and shine and still make it look elegant.

As I said earlier also accessorizing is a must. So here we nailed it right with yet another striking piece of necklace from The Style Closet. This gold gild is a beauty in itself. This is a modern contemporary art work in jewellery. The Gold has an intricate design on all the roundels. It is extremely gorgeous and brings out life. Also being Gold it goes well with any color but more with Pink.

Not much accessorizing was required with this Gold necklace but just a gold bangle did well with it. This Gold Bangle is from Manoharlal Jewellers. It is an Italian make and is yet again a modern approach to wearing jewellery. Gold is definitely a bet when it comes to wearing jewellery. It is back in fashion with its much contemporary designs and an artistic approach.

This is all about the Mehandi look for a wedding. Stay tuned for more blog posts on Wedding Looks.

Love Much
